The Challenge

Te’kila Hollywood has been a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar on Hollywood Boulevard since 2010, with more than 150 tequilas on the shelf, a famous happy hour and daily specials. Online, there was only a “coming soon” page where the old WordPress site used to be.

The information existed, but it was scattered: a menu PDF, promo flyers, an old tequila list and years of archived pages, which didn’t always agree. The new site had to bring all of it together, get the details right, and feel as loud and lively as the cantina itself.

Our Approach

We started with the facts. We gathered the client’s menu PDF, flyers and the archived versions of the old site, set an order of precedence for when sources disagreed, and confirmed open questions with the owner. Menus, specials, hours and the tequila list each live in one data file, so a price change updates the page and its structured data together.

The design comes from the restaurant’s own flyers: Anton display type, Kaushan Script accents, brand red, green and gold, and a clapperboard strip that nods to the Hollywood address. We rebuilt the logo as a crisp transparent version from the vector art in the menu PDF.

Then we made it fun to use. The tequila list lets guests search, filter by type, sort by price, or hit “Surprise me.” A margarita builder previews flavours in an illustrated glass. An open-now badge and today’s special light up based on Los Angeles time. Every effect respects reduced-motion settings, and the pages are complete without JavaScript.

Accessibility is built in, not bolted on. An automated axe check runs over every page at build and fails it on violations, colour pairs were measured for contrast, and an accessibility toolbar lets visitors adjust text size, contrast, font and motion. Fonts are self-hosted. Slugs match the legacy WordPress URLs, and old menu category pages redirect to the right section.

The site is also ready for AI assistants, with markdown versions of every page and llms.txt generated from the same data. The contact form sends messages without ever publishing an email address.

The Result

Te’kila Hollywood went live in October 2026 with food and drink menus, specials, the tequila list, events, reservations, photos and a blog, all on a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages.

Results

  1. Searchable, sortable tequila list of 220 pours with prices and a Surprise me pick
  2. Food and drink menus built from the client's menu, with Menu structured data that updates with every price
  3. Open-now badge and today's special highlight driven by Los Angeles time
  4. Every page checked by an automated accessibility gate at build, plus a built-in accessibility toolbar
  5. Legacy WordPress URLs preserved for search
