A WordPress-to-Astro rebuild of smartclick.ai for SmartClick, an AI and machine learning company, keeping its brand and every URL with a modernized layout.

The Challenge
SmartClick is an AI and machine learning software company. Its website ran on WordPress with the Avada theme and carried years of content: service pages, computer vision API pages, an FAQ, a careers section, a meme gallery and nearly fifty articles.
The site needed to feel as current as the work SmartClick does, without losing what it already had. The brand had to stay: the logo, Smartah the robot mascot and the indigo, purple and orange palette. Every URL had to keep working, and the content had to come across intact.
Our Approach
We treated it as a migration first. We captured every URL from the three WordPress sitemaps and wrote an extraction step that pulled the semantic content out of the Avada markup, including the collapsible toggles that hold the FAQ answers. Images were downloaded, optimized and mapped to their new locations, and optimized copies were placed at the old upload URLs so existing links and embeds keep resolving. An audit confirmed that all 66 old permalinks are present and the article text is preserved.
Then we modernized the layout around the existing brand. The homepage hero is a canvas starfield where faint constellations lean toward the pointer, with Smartah tilting to follow it and a typed speech bubble beside her. The machine learning capabilities are ARIA tabs, each with an animated SVG demo. A floating glass header shrinks on scroll, and a small rocket in the footer is the back-to-top button. All motion respects reduced-motion settings, and long-form articles sit on a light reading panel for comfort.
Behind the scenes, an accessibility check runs over every page at build. A cookie notice keeps analytics off until a visitor accepts, and an accessibility panel lets people adjust text size, contrast, typeface, links and motion. Forms post to a server-side function, and a build check fails if an email address ever appears in the output.
For search and AI assistants, the site has an explicit crawler policy, an llms.txt file and markdown versions of every page for agents that ask for them.
The Result
The rebuilt smartclick.ai went live in October 2026. It is the same SmartClick, with the same brand, URLs and article library, on a static site with a calmer, more modern layout.
